Miss A has shown a lot of interest in this Mini Geometric Shape Puzzle a lot lately. She picks up the different pieces and inspects it and attempt so put it back into the correct place. So I thought I'd create a simple but fun play set up that focused on all things shapes!

An exploration into the world of patterns was the theme for today's play. I set up this quick invitation by laying out some colourful play dough and textured rollers for her to use. I then got her to go around the house and look for other everyday objects we could use to create different patterns. It's a simple activity which can help develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and exploration of textural differences.
Such a simple activity that helps encourage younger bubs to practise their gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Inspired by one of our favourite books at the moment, this book play with play dough and coloured rice is a great way to engage little ones during story time.
