I thought this would be a fun way to expose Miss A to a variety of different fruits. She hasn't quite gotten around to tasting more of the tropical fruits like rambutan and pineapple, but I wanted to show her there are so many different kinds of fruits - all with such vibrant colours, textures and unique smells. It's great that our play dough come scented, so she kind of get's to smell what the fruit would smell like in real life.
I also incorporated some of her wooden fruit toys into play, just to show her a variety of mediums.
To give her a little activity, I got her to sprinkle yellow rice on the pineapple to create the texture of the pineapple skin and I gave her some dried black beans to add to the watermelon as seeds.
Seeing how happy she was after this was so worth the couple of hours I spent moulding the fruits. Always brings me so much joy seeing her wake up from her nap and and having fun with our sensory play activities!
